Adam and Corinna’s rustic themed wedding was held in Ireland on Saturday 7th September, 2013. Their ceremony took place at St. Aidan’s Church Kinlough with a reception following at The Sandhouse Hotel overlooking Rossnowlagh beach.
Corinna had arrived in Australia (from Ireland) for her gap year and had only been in the country two nights before her and Adam found each other in a Sydney bar in 2005.
Adam always wanted to make the proposal a surprise, which after 8 years was a hard task. Therefore, he went to a lot of effort to pretend he won a competition for a weekend getaway to Hamilton Island. After a false start when their flights were cancelled due to topical thunderstorms they managed to make it up there three weeks later where Adam finally got the chance to surprise Corinna.
Funniest Wedding Moment: The fact that the grooms party and special guest, wedding photographer, Chris Knoblauch, thought taking a leap off a pier into the Atlantic Ocean at 8am on an 8 degree Irish morning was a sensible way to start the wedding day. Seemed like a good idea at the time.
Special Wedding Day Moment: Walking into the church and reception venue to see all of our wedding planning come together was a special moment but having all of our family and friends from Ireland and Australia celebrating with us was the highlight of the day and extra special.
Special thanks to our parents, siblings, extended family, bridal party and friends for all their love, support and patience in the lead up and for throwing us fantastic hen and bucks parties.
What was you experience like having Chris & Sonia from Sterling Studios photograph your wedding? Chris and Sonia were terrific from start to finish. From our first meeting right through to sitting down and choosing the best of the amazing photos they took, at every stage they made us feel comfortable and relaxed. You could really tell that they just wanted our day to be perfect.
Advice for other brides-to-be: Everyone will tell you the day goes quick and to enjoy it and they are right. Take some time aside to take it all in.
